Decks
are constructed of pressure treated lumber, composite materials
such as Trex, or cedar and mahogany. In cases, a combination
of products are used as is illustrated in the deck at the
right constructed of a pressure treated frame and Trex decking
with cedar railings. The result was a very distinguished look
that provided a rich compliment to the existing home.
Sometimes
a deck is not a deck at all, but rather a platform patio.
Referred to as a platform patio or pallet patio, the deck
is level with the ground. A platform patio is shown at the
right. Shrubs were planted around the perimeter of this patio
for privacy.
